Volunteer: Extreme Heat Loan Program - Delivery & Pickup Support (Ongoing)

We are building a team of MRC volunteers to assist with deliveries and pickups for the MRC Extreme Heat Loan Program. Volunteers will be part of the activation group and contacted when an extreme heat event/emergency is indicated by the National Weather Service. The activation will be coordinated with the Skagit County Department of Emergency Management (DEM) and Medical Reserve Corps. Skagit DEM will work with Public Health’s Meals on Wheels Program to offer this service to those in need. The duration of the loan period is dependent upon the length of the heat event/advisory. Follow up with your unit lead for more information!


What you'll do during activations:

Load and unload an AC unitDeliver the unit to residents in needInstall the AC unitPick up the unit once the loan period endsProvide friendly and respectful service to residents! 

You should be able to:

Ability to lift 50 lbs. (with assistance if needed)Comfortable working in hot weather

MRC Inventory & Supplies – Day 2 Operations

We’re continuing with Day 2 of organizing inventory and supplies located in the jail pod. Volunteers will assist with loading and transporting supplies, as well as sorting, labeling, and recording items. This is a great opportunity to become familiar with our outreach materials and ensure we’re fully prepared for upcoming events!

Shift Details:

A Shift Responsibilities: Sorting through supplies and loading them for drop-off at the conex.

B Shift Responsibilities: Putting away, sorting, labeling, and recording supplies into the conex.
